Last thursday my husband went to a new liver specialist. He told us that My husband has stage 4 cirrhosis and he will need to get into shape to try for a liver transplant. To get on the list, that is. John and I couldn't hold back the tears. We knew his liver was not well, but no one else was being totally honest about how bad it had gotten.
We cried for a couple of days, and then decided to face this head -on and try to do everything the doctor says and follow a strict diet, take med.'s that are prescribed and pray alot.
It's difficult to grasp such a reality when John's symptoms are not acute. I am nervous, and I ask God every day to give me strength for this journey. I know God can heal John completely.
John has such a positive attitude, he is inspiring. We love each other very much. We are both Christians, and love the Lord.
We have been married 4 wonderful years, and have known each other for 6 years.
If you are reading this I hope you will warn people you know not to drink in excess, and also never abuse drugs. Obesity can also cause the liver to fail, as well as taking too much Tylenol.
